A Streetcar Named Desire

Following the creation of my Digital Decay series, I wanted to create tangible versions of those images that I most personally identified with that series. Seeing an opportunity to bridge the span between my photography and theatre studies, I created a series of self-portraits using pages from the classic Tennessee Williams play A Streetcar Named Desire.

It is a dark and emotional play exploring themes of abuse, fantasy, sexuality, & relationships. At the time, I found many of the negative characteristics in the main characters within myself. This series was a way of confronting the reality of the person I was allowing myself to be and starting the process of changing that.
